Airlie Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. The weather was fantastic and I wanted to do nothing but hang out at the beach all day

Airlie beach itself is a packpackers delight, but nothing exciting in itself, but we used it to start our 7 night bareboating cruise with Cumberland yacht charters, and it exceeded all our expectations!

I LOVE Airlie Beach. It\'s vibrancy, energy and the multitude of people just there for a fun time. There\'s not a great deal in Airlie itself, but from Shute Harbour just up the road is every cruise imaginable to any island you want. Pubs and clubs cater for the backpackers and you will find everything from karaoke, toad races, cockroach races, wet tshirt comps, you name it. The views of the ocean when you drive from Proserpine to Airlie and round that bend are nothing short of breathtaking.

A fanstaic hotel by the sea, gorgeous views and the spa on the balcony a real highlight!! A gateway to so much or just stay at the resort and relax!!

Airlie beach really is only the gateway to the Whitsundays. Airlie itself is nothing to write home about no beach, good manmade lagoon but not the same! and it is full of returning party boattrippers at night which get a little rowdy!

My least favourite spot in Oz as it really is a party town and there isn\'t much beach about it. Great for the youngsters but for older people and families, it\'s busy and the restaurants are expensive. If you want to go to the Barrier Reef, go from Cairns or fly straight to one of the islands.

Airlie is the perfect jumping point for the Whitsunday Islands. Now with it\'s artifical lagoon, it\'s safe to swim all year round. I recommend any of the 3 days / 2 nights yacht cruises. Definitely one of my two favourite spots in Australia

great party place, lots of great night life. Must do the Siska Yacht cruise for 3 nights through the whitsundays. Absolutely one of the best holidays that I have been on. But be careful of the minges as they can really cause severe rash on your skin. I was put on steroids back here in Melbourne and now have hair on my chest. The siska island hops what a great way to see the islands and is an affordable holiday..

Airlie is the gateway to Island paradise. Huge selection of Islands to visit. Airlie township is very busy with backpackers. so a must for backpackers. Stayed at Club Crocodile 20min (walk) from town. Well catered for family, couples and singles

The gateway to your trip through the Whitsundays, Airlie Beach is such a party town! Great bars and clubs, the beaches aren\'t that great, but following in Cairns\' footsteps, there\'s a lagoon that the beautiful people like to lounge around. Not much else to do but that in the days leading up to or after your sailing trip which is a MUST if you\'re anywhere near the area. The Whitsunday islands are breathtaking.
