A nice little town we drove through on our way back to Sydney. A pretty place to stop in at is the Botanical Gardens in Benalla which is alongside the Lake. Apparently there is a nice rose garden there, but it wasn\'t blooming at the time we visited.

On the Broken River, this smallish city has an outstanding art gallery as well as lots of Ned Kelly memorbilia. The Jazz Festival attracts international and local musicians and is worth the stay. Have a picnic, visit nearby King Valley and Paradise Falls. A good weekend getaway.
