The Daintree is an hours drive north of cairns. originally a timber town it is now a major ecological biodiverse area set on the daintree river.

Rainforest meets the reef is so accurate. My fondest memory was sitting on a log on the deserted beach watching the small waves roll in, azure sky above me, and I could hear and smell the rainforest behind me. I closed my eyes and my two ultimate natural wonders merged. Was just magnificent. The track from the Daintree River up to the nearest pub was adventurous and a load of fun and added to the trip that was an adventure. LOVED IT!

Daintree was amazing. Stayed on a farm at Daintree village for the night before heading north of the river. Quiet, untouched, spectacular. As good as the pictures.

Breath in that air, some of the worlds oldest rainforest up here and essential on a trip round oz I believe. Great wildlife keep away form the Cassowaries! I love nature!

An excellent place to visit to learn about the rainforest habitat. Tour companies can take you on great walking tours, white water rafting or you can drive there yourself & visit the canopy walk.

I and my husband went there by mistake on our way to Cape Tribulation. We got lost and visited DAINTREE. It is a very little town. We loved the main street with all the shops. There is the best shop for wooden craft I’ve ever seen. We had a crocodile hamburger for a first time. You can try it if you go there it is at the end on this shopping street.

Awesome place to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature of the rainforest. Where the beach and the forest meets, you can swim with, make sure you look out for the crocs. Take a nature walk and listen to the wildlife! Very relaxing, a must to visit and protect!

What\'s not to like about natural wilderness. Rainforest, rivers, crocs, birds. Awesome tranquility. The real Australai and hopefully will remain unspoilt forever.

wow, so peaceful and quiet - the lush rainforest surrounds you and you really feel at ease here. the tap tap of the rain on the verandah roof is lovely to listen to at night
