Devonport is the first town you will arrive at when you go to Tasmania via the Ferry. It is a great little country town. It has all the atmosphere as the gateway to Tasmania.

It was so exciting cruising into Devonport on board the Able Tasman (it is now called Spirit of Tasmania). Not much happens here, but it was the start to my Tasmania trip and it was great.

Gateway to Tassie for those who take the Spirit of Tasmania over from the mainland. It\'s a port with industrial containers everywhere. But even so it\'s a very tidy and clean town. Not much to do here.

DEVONPORT is a Tasmanian port city. It is best known with the \"Spirit of Tasmania\" The ferry which connects Australia with Tasmania. If you go to Tasmania by ferry you you won\'t miss it. It is nothing special is relatively small town, looks very industrial. Narrow streets, very small beach. But it is a good starting point to the major attractions and interesting places of Tasmania.
