We went on a day trip here when we were staying in Byron Bay. It is not a long drive, and I have to say as much as I loved Byron Bay, it was just as pretty here, but more laid back and less trendy.

Kingscliff is a gorgeous seaside town, between the Gold Coast and Byron Bay. The Outrigger at Salt resort is worth a look (& a stay) - incredible rooms and some fantastic cafes. Great beach for swimming and surfing too!

Great quiet and beautiful family location only 30 minutes from Byron Bay and 90 minutes from the Gold Coast or 15 minutes from the airport and some stunning coast line
