Reviews of Lakes Entrance

Gateway to the Gippsland lakes and beaches of the East coast. Fishing and boating town with good fresh seafood. Quiet village feel with lots of different accomodation choices. A good place to break up a long trip up the coast.

A really nice little town in Victoria that reminds me of the Central coast in NSW. There is a fantastic bakery on the main road that has the most delicious pies and cakes. Nice to go for a stroll over the water on the bridge. The beach on the other side is amazing. A big tourist destination. Lots of accomodation choices here.

The Gippsland Lakes and the start of the 90 mile beach make this a summer destination. Swimming, surfing, fishing and eating out seem to be the thing to do- ideal for families with younger children.

Home to the 90 mile beach. Great family destination with access to inland lakes and great surf beaches. Sunbake, fish, surf or relax with a book in hand. A beautiful destination only 3 hrs from Melbourne

Combining a Mediterranean climate together with heaps to do and see, will make this a memorable holiday on the water.

There\'s a pelican feeding time everyday that\'s worth watching. Those birds are huge!

I have spent a lot of summer on the gippsland lakes visiting \'lakes\' a fair bit. The 90 mile beach is beautiful but you can buy some great fish at the co-ops but Lakes Entrance is not that special. Better off going to somewhere like Metung which is 20 minutes back towards Bairnsdale.

Not sure what everyone raves about, nice place, but nothing special.

In the summer Lakes Entrance comes alive with all the holiday makers. Good for fishing and relaxing near the water. Idyllic peaceful setting.
