Between Mornington and nearby Mt Martha is a stretch of fine coastline with sheltered sandy bays separated by rocky bluffs and backed by steep wooded slopes. Check out the exposed fossil plain near Mornington beach. Monrington also gives its name to Peninsula where there are many varied beaches, wineries, holiday activities for a wide range of interests.

Mornington is about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Melbourne. It is on the Mornington Peninsula. It is on a elevated Headland and has nice pub lunches and a great Sunday Market.

Mornington is a great place to be on New Years Eve with fireworks and carnivals and family atmosphere at the beach. It is a laid back and one of the less busier places on the coast. It is about 1hr and 15 minutes from Melbourne CBD. There are a lot of Housing Estates out in Mornington.

The Mornington Peninsula is really lovely and laid back. A lot of Melbournians flock annual down here over summer to Rye, Rosebud, Portsea, Sorrento etc..

Head out to the strawberry farm to pick ripe strawberries. Or visit the lovely beaches of Sorrento or Portsea. Or discover lavender farms and the rugged cliffs of the ocean side of the peninsular. All good.

Mornington (and the Peninsula) is a good place for a weekend escape from Melbourne. When it is really hot day in Melbourne it is always few degrees cooler there.

Mornington is a lovely town. Situated in the south east of Melbourne (1.25 hours) based on the coast Mornington is great. There is a real village feel in the town and people are really friendly. It has great eateries and shops for everyone.

Cruisy beach town where it\'s just fun to hang out. Great shops, cafes and a few good pubs. Only an hour from Melbourne, a great day or weekend away.
