Perth is a lovely city. Very relaxed, with great weather all year round. The river is pretty, and the beachside towns of Cottesloe and Margaret River are divine. If you’re a surfer, you’ll love what Perth has to offer.

I like it, it\'s pretty relaxed and the people are friendly. Definitely worth a trip and a visit to the park on the hill at sunset is a must. You can have a sip of sparkling in the restaurant and enjoy it even more. The weather is consistently great. A trip south to Fremantle and further to the Margaret River area are also worth your while.

Perth is usually the first stop into the west coast. I had the best time traveling up and down that coast and would recommend to anyone. Make sure you have time as there are lots to see

Perth is a pretty low key city. The locals are lovely and very laid back. Take a cruise down the swan river and check out all the millionaries homes. House prices in Perth just keep going up due to the current mining boom in WA..

We stayed 3 nights in Perth in the midst of the Swan Valley wineries and boutique beer breweries. What could be better? The Swan Valley is only 20 mins from the centre of Perth, but seems a world away. Freshly picked sultana grapes (we haven’t seen real sultana grapes for years), tomatoes, plums and other organically grown fruit was for sale by the road – mmmmm! We tried the local olive grower – a South African family who had invested several millions starting an olive grove, restaurant and a couple of rental chalets about 5 years ago – but the olives weren’t to our taste and the olive oil was VERY peppery. This seems to be the case with all the oil produced in South West WA and the farmers blame (attribute?) it to the long cool climate maturing period. We will stick to the exquisite Robinvale oil produced in small quantities by a family in Northern Victoria.

Most of the wineries were small family affairs (you could almost call them serious hobby farms) just selling from the cellar door – with Houghton and Sandalford Wines being the large, highly commercial exceptions. Houghton has an extremely impressive lawn/picnic area shaded by mature trees and a professional cellar door. The Swan Valley also hosts 3 or 4 boutique (Beer!) breweries and Ironbark in particular makes beer we really enjoyed. The Belgian-style white beer was the stand-out.

Perth

I’ve travelled to Perth several times
and each time I find
something new to do.
Because it’s easy to get around
This great city that was well planned.
By using the public transport system
You can be comfortably “driven”
To almost anyplace.
King’s Park with memorial trees to those who sacrificed
their lives.
I arrived
During the wildflower season
A jolly good reason
to visit Western Australia.
And Perth in all her Christmas regalia
is a grand sight.
Or one just might
Decide to seek and then find
Quokkas on Rottnest Island.
Churches, little parks that tucked away,
Where children frolic and play.
For glorious old buildings that reek of history
Fremantle is just a short trip away.
So, do yourself a favour
and spend some time in Perth, Western Australia.

Perth is the remotest city in the world - 4 hours to anywhere but don\'t let that stop you from it\'s charms of Kings Park, Fremantle and Rottnest Island. With the resource boom, prices are now approaching Sydney if not going to exceed it by 2007.

Great city, because it\'s on the West side not too many people go there compared to Melbourne and Sydney, but I loved it. Scarborough Beach is gorgeous. Fremantle is close. Fantastic wineries down south, but up north - wow! Coral Bay (about 2 days drive) is fantastic.

Perth is a wonderful city. It is clean and wonderfully laid out. All heavy industry is located outside of Perth itself. Very well planned city. The beaches would have to be some of the best in the world. Do be careful of the under currents while swimming. It is the Indian Ocean and can be unpredictable. The sand on the beaches are the whitest. There are some wonderful old suburbs in Perth like Dalkeith . It is a nice city however it is on the West Coast of Australia and sometimes can seem a little isolated from the East Coast.

Perth would be the nicest town I have been to in Australia, having been to Carribean, the Perth water is just as blue and nice. Perth has a nice coast and not that big a city, the only problem with perth is it\'s to far from the east coast 4 and 5 hour flights

With everything from great beaches to glorious desert expanses within easy reach Perth is a great destination for anyone wanting to get away from it all....and still be close to everything! Make sure you spend some time on Rotnest Island.
