Port Douglas would probably be the most upmarket place in Far North Queensland. It has great shopping, boating, fishing, relaxing and just mingling with hip & chic people.

Port Douglas is a wonderful town in Far North Queensland. It has a wonderful outlook area where you can see the whole coast. I love the old queensland Pub that has been there since day dot. It is a beutiful place to relax, drink, eat and maybe meet someone famous.

Situated North of Cairns Port Douglas has plenty to offer Plenty of accommadation and beaches trips to the reef sailing scuba diving a total tropical experience. However becoming hugly expensive when you can go five or ten kilometers up or down the road and do the same things for half the price.

Queensland Perfection. Make sure you go to the look out and take your camera. The Marina has some nice shops and GREAT seafood restaurants. St Mary\'s on the Sea is a gorgeous little church who\'s back wall is an open window, that frames the ocean..very special. Drive by and you\'ll more than likely see a wedding going on. The Pie shop on the main road between the town and Five Mile Beach is well worht a visit.

Port Douglas near the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest is a wonderfully relaxing place- cosmopolitan with many good places to eat and surrounded by lush vegetation. Getting expensive as international visitors stream in.

Nice, nice, nice.I would like to live here, beautiful homes and amazing restaurants just the life you want to live(well I do) It like Cairns is a gateway to the reef, it\'s a little quieter than Cairns so this is a bonus with regards to this. Great bird sanctuary have breakfast with the birds!

This place is awesome! Such a beautiful part of Australia with access to so many activities. You can snorkle in the Great Barrier Reef, walk on the beach at Cape Tribulation, swim under waterfalls at Mossmans Gorge or relax at one of the many eateries. Will definately be heading back there again very soon.

Port Douglas is as close as you can get to the twin world heritage listed locations of the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest and yet still come home for a hot bath afterwards.

Beautiful spot! Great shopping, great coastline etc. The drive from Cairns to Port Douglas is almost as nice as the great ocean rd! Also, the restaurant Gone Bananas (I think that\'s what it was called) is one of the best I\'ve ever been to in my life! Bizarre set up etc, but the food is amazing!

A great honeymoon destination. A lot busier than Port Douglas with a great variety of accommodation and restaurants. Great Golf course at Sheraton. Beautiful beaches for a romantic stroll. Stay away when the wet season is in.

Great place in FNQ, far enough away from Cairns that Port Douglas is quite and accessable. Plenty of places to stay and relax. Good spot for jumping out to the islands on a day trip.

The classy resort town of North Queensland. Plenty of 5 star resorts to choose from here just 45 mins from Cairns and not far to the daintree. Feels like a little Noosa.

Port Douglas is less mass-market than Cairns so probably a bit more relaxing place to base yourself for the reef and the Daintree.

Little bit larger than Palm Cove, fantastic place to access some islands off the coast. Gorgeous beach, warm water and I love the real tropical island feel of the place.

I liked the restaurants and the cafe shops on the main street. Lovely place to have a family holiday.

I have been to Port Douglas twice for day trips from Cairns, very nice and would of like to spend a few days up there. Its a nice quiet town with plenty of cruises etc to go on and a couple of nice pubs in town.

A beautiful part of Queensland, very relaxed and quiet with beautiful properties and resorts everywhere. The seafood is out of this world, a good place to wind down after the craziness of its neighbour Cairns.
