I have spent many summers at Portsea. Portsea Pub is perfect for being seen at. Sorrento Hotel has great food and an older crowd, Portsea swim classic is a fantastic weekend. Porstea Polo in Jan is very \'social\' and Shellys Beach is where to sunbake and swim -- private and lovely

We liked the rugged and unruly back beach of the Point Nepean National Park with its extensive cliff walks which can lead down to small inlets and coves. In the town another cliff top walk skirting cliff top gardens is an interesting way to view the bay- however the entrance to this walk is difficult to find- but worth the effort.

A great day trip from Melbourne- it has a surf beach for the adventurous and a bay beach for the kiddies. Portsea pub is a must for an afternoon drink or dinner at sunset.

the portsea pub is the place to be seen over summer. The back beach has big wild surf most of the time and the front beach is nice to sit and watch the sun set. The pub meals are ok but i recommend getting fish and chips and siting on the pier.

Portsea semi-famous for one of our Prime Minister\'s drowning, still retains it\'s seaside charm.

The Portsea Pub is the place to be. Great pub,on the beach, great place to meet people. The place to hang out. Portsea is a wealthier seaside suburb on the Mornington Peninsula about 1.5 hours drive from Melbourne.
