Yarra Glen is a nice town to the east of Melbourne. It is in the agriculturally rich Yarra Valley. There are wineries and it is very picturesque.

In the middle of a visit to the Yarra Valley, this little town with some lovely historic old buildings is worth lunching at. Try Cheese Freaks where the menu includes some of the best pies you could try and before going, buy some of the wonderful cheeses or jams on display.
